Fred F. DeMarco Jr.

Mt. Carmel – Fred F. DeMarco Jr., 71, of 229 S. Beech St., passed away on March 29, 2026, at his residence.

He was born in Shamokin on September 14, 1954, the son of the late Fred DeMarco Sr. and Helen (Conches) DeMarco.

Fred was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel and a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, Class of 1972. He worked in the floor department at Broudmore Homes in Ringtown and also served as caretaker of Holy Cross Church and Cemetery.

Fred was a member of the former Holy Cross Church, and more recently a member of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. He was an avid fan of the Red Tornadoes, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Phillies. He was a member of the crew at Dorko's Bar.

Fred is survived by his brother, Dave J. Demarco of Mt. Carmel; a sister, Kathleen B. DeMarco of Mt. Carmel; two nieces, Tonya DeMarco and significant other, Ray Wessling and Cassidy DeMarco and significant other, Jesse Barwicki; a nephew, David A. DeMarco and significant other, Whitney Bostain; three great-nieces, Juliana Klusman, Malaya DeMarco, and Gianna DeMarco; and a great-nephew, Liam DeMarco. Fred was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at noon with Msgr. Francis Karwacki officiating in the C J Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine Street. Mt. Carmel. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Twp. Visitation will be held on April 9th, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the Mount Carmel Funeral Home.
