Fred Wayne Dowless

Fred Wayne Dowless, 67, of Elizabethtown passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at home surrounded by family. He was born in Bladen County on August 8, 1956, the son of the late James Edwin Dowless and Joyce Campbell Dowless.

Left to cherish his memory are brother Steve Dowless and wife Gayle of Tar Heel, his very good friend Kelly Daunie, one aunt, Doris Romanowski of Dallas, TX, one uncle, Don Campbell of Phoenix, AZ, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and one brother, Kenny Dowless.

Fred was a quiet, gentle man. He had a love of motorcycles, both to ride and to work on. He enjoyed nothing better than to be on the highway on a beautiful sunny day riding his motorcycle. He will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 2-2:45 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will follow at 3 pm in the Butler Cemetery of Singletary Church in Dublin with the Reverend Warren Hill officiating.

At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Steve and Gayle Dowless, 115 Meyers Street, Tar Heel, NC 28392.
