Fred Rodriguez Fernandez, 80, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, surrounded by family in San Angelo.
Public viewing will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2024, art Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. A Prayer service will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 29, 2024 with Pastor Israel Flores, pastor of Bethel Assembly of God. officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Fred was born on June 21, 1944 to Juan and Anita Fernandez in San Angelo, and attended SAISD. Fred retired from Rays Transfer and Storage after many years of working there. After retirement he enjoyed fishing, many may know him from having the best yard sales in town. He loves spending time with his grandkids and loved having his great grandson, Jaidyn everywhere he went. He was a hard worker, He had a big heart and helped anyone that crossed paths with him.
He survived by his only son, Freddie Fernandez and wife Liza; and 2 grandchildren, Cody Fernandez, and Lauren Helton and husband Michael; a special Great Grandson, Jaidyn Martinez; his ex-wife, Alice Fernandez; a brother, John Fernandez. his two sisters, Eva Hollingworth and husband Ron, and Mary Soto; and sister-in-law, Eliane Fernandez. Fred had 8 nephew and nieces, Gilbert Soto, Corina Soto, Dustin Hollingworth, Johnny Fernandez, Kaptain Fernandez, Jesse James Fernandez, Vanessa Jenkins, and Ana Lisa Gonzalez. Fred also survived by an aunt, Enriqueta Rodriguez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Anita Fernandez, and his brother Richard Fernandez.
Pallbearers will be his son, Freddie Fernandez, grandsons, Cody Fernandez and Michael Helton, great grandson, Jaidyn Martinez, and nephews, Gilbert Soto and Anthony Vaquera.
A special Thank you goes out to Aracelie Flores, RN, from Concho Hearts Hospice for the love and care she gave him while he was at the end of his life. We can't thank you enough for all you did for us during this time.
