Fred and I attended competing Catholic high schools in Wichita Kansas and did not know each other at that time. I came to know Fred however when he joined the wrestling team at Emporia State University. Fred and I were cocaptains of the wrestling team during our senior year. I always thought of Fred as a very sincere and intelligent person, and was honored to count him as my friend. I am sorry to hear of Fred`s passing. He and his family will be in my prayers.
