Freddy O'Quinn, age 78, of Tecumseh, MI, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Tecumseh Place, with his family present, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on August 11, 1947, in Pikeville, KY, the son of the late Rice Superior Whitfield and Hester (Bartley) O'Quinn. Fred proudly served his country as a medic in the United States Army. He then graduated from Siena Heights in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in business. He was joined in marriage on January 27, 1969, with his first wife, Mary Young, who preceded him in death after forty-six years of happiness. On August 16, 2020, he married Suzanne Norris in Tecumseh, MI, and they have shared over 5 loving years together. Fred was a lifelong accountant, working for various firms, as well as owning his own business.
Fred was a dedicated member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. He also was a member of a number of organizations including Civitan, the Tecumseh Fan Club, and the Adrian Moose. He enjoyed working several years with his brother Tom at Tom's World of Wood and the UAW. He was a jack-of-all trades and there was nothing that he couldn't fix. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of Irish Hills HOG Chapter 1294. Fred loved interacting with people and had the wonderful ability of being able to comfortably converse with them on just about any subject and at any level. Fred also enjoyed traveling, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Fred is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Shannon Gregory of Tecumseh, MI, Ryan (Coty) O'Quinn of Rochester Hills, MI, and Kevin O'Quinn of Perrysburg, OH; his grandchildren, Evan, Aaron, and Aiden Gregory, and Cameron, Lauren, Collin and Lilian O'Quinn; his siblings, Rice O'Quinn of Ypsilanti, MI, Mary Lou Scott of Westland, MI, and Tom (Sue) O'Quinn of Manitou Beach, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
