Fred Patnode Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 9, 2013.
PATNODE, Fred E., of Tampa, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013. Survivors include his wife Caron, daughter Karla O'Berry and partner David Pratt, son Fred W. Patnode and his wife Mary, grandson Fred J. Patnode and great-grandson Fred Eli Patnode. Fred joined the U.S. Army in 1943, serving during WWII in the European Theatre and attained the rank of Sergeant. Fred was a retired City of Tampa Police Officer. He rode motorcycles for 69 years and was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. Fred also had a passion for carpentry work and will be remembered for all the furniture that he made for his family and friends. Fred had many devoted friends who will miss his quick wit and colorful use of cliques that made him loved, if not respected, by everyone that he knew. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Caron, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and Fred's families. We have some great memories of our motorcycle rides with you and Fred during our Blue Knights days. We know that he is in Heaven I and met up with Little Bear and Dave McCoy for a motorcycle ride! Love the picture in his TPD uniform ... it brings back memories. God bless you both.
