Fred Primmer Obituary
1939-2013 NORTH ADAMS Mr. Fred Daniel Primmer, 74 of 39 Middle Rd. Clarksburg, died Sunday July 21, 2013 at his home.
He was born in North Adams, on April 24, 1939, son of I. Weston and Gwendolyn (Sutton) Primmer. He attended local schools and graduated from the Drury High School. He also graduated from Berkshire Community College.
Fred served in the Mass. National Guard in North Adams for 15 years.
He was last employed by General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 35 years until his retirement in 1995. He then worked at the Assisted Community Living in Clarksburg until his retirement in November of 2012.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in North Adams and was a member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Dept. Fred enjoyed cooking and catering. He especially enjoyed working with the young people at ACL.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara A. Beaudin whom he married on April 13, 1979. One daughter, Colleen Libby of Phoenix, Ariz., one son, Patrick J. Primmer of Lee, nine grandchildren, two stepsons, Richard George Jr. and his wife, Jackie of North Adams; and Dale A. George and his wife, Terry of Clarksburg. He also leaves two sisters.
His brother is deceased.
