Fred Roberts was a family friend who figuratively included me as a son and part of his family while he was in Ohio. He became an important part of my life for so many years. As a boy and teenager he always included me and treated me as equal to sit at the adults table and conversation. I spent many Spring and Summer trout seasons as my dad, him, and I would fish all over Pennsylvania and catch fish, tell stories, and have adventures at our cabin. Our families together also vacationed and fished and made memories together. I am deeply saddened by his passing and will never forget all the Texas sayings, truths, and humorous life lessons he always had ready. My sincere condolences to Pam and Gwen and all of their families.

Fred was such a sweet gentle man. I enjoyed talking with him each Sunday at our church, Friendship Baptist. He will be greatly missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to your family during this difficult time. It was an honor to know Fred.
