Fred E. Tooker, 62, of Houghton Lake passed away on Monday September 8, 2025 at home with his loving family at his side.

Fred was born on December 31, 1962 in Newberry, Michigan to Fred and Sharon (Gillum) Tooker. He moved to Roscommon County as an infant and spent most of his life in Roscommon County. Fred was the owner and operator of F & T Roofing of Houghton Lake for many years. On August 23, 1996 in Roscommon, canoeing on the Au Sable River, Fred was married to Theresa Marie Jammer. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and making trips to the Upper Peninsula. Fred was an avid softball player and sponsor for many years in the Houghton Lake Leagues. His Special love was spending time with his family.

Surviving Mr. Tooker are his loving wife of 29 years, Theresa Tooker of Houghton Lake; three daughters, Jamie (Kevin) Pease of Houghton Lake, Mellissa Tooker of Merritt, and Chandelle (Nate) MacDonald of St. Helen; two sons, Robert (Missy) Tooker of Houghton Lake, and Kyle Jammer of Houghton Lake; ten grandchildren, Kean, Fred, Austin, Robert Jr., Abby, Brooklyn, Logan, Adrianna, Jared, and Emmett; two and a half great grandchildren, Fred II, Makenna, and one on the way; his mother, Sharon Tooker of Houghton Lake; two sisters, Kim Pritchard of Houghton Lake, and Dawn Tooker of Lake; brother, William Tooker of Houghton Lake; several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his father, Fred E. Tooker Sr..

Visitation Services for Fred E. Tooker will be held on Friday September 12, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel. Memorial contributions in memory of Fred are asked to be directed to the family. Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel is serving the family.
