Fred Vaughn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anniston Memorial Funeral Home on Sep. 15, 2023.
With heavy hearts, the family of Mr. Fred L. Vaughn announces his passing. Fred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. At the age of 82, he peacefully departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of service, laughter, and compassion.
A ceremony honoring Fred's life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Bollinger will be officiating. Burial will follow the service in Anniston Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Fred is survived by his brothers, Ralph, Truman, and Doyce; and his grandchildren, Amber, Ethan, Kendra, and Elizabeth.
Preceding Fred in death were his wife, Elaine; his children, Tamara, Fred Jr., and Gary; his sister, Claira; and his brothers, Bloyce, James, and Frank.
One of Fred's many gifts was his ability to bring joy to others through laughter. His infectious sense of humor could brighten the darkest of days, and he had a talent for finding humor in life's most ordinary moments. Fred leaves behind countless cherished memories of shared laughter. But it was his care for his family that truly defined Fred. He leaves behind a family deeply grateful for his enduring love and support. In remembrance of Fred's life, we invite family and friends to come prepared to share fond memories of him among those who cared for him.
Fred's family extends an invitation to come together with them to honor a life filled with love, laughter, dedication, and a lasting legacy of service and devotion to family and country.
Fred may have left this world, but his spirit and the joy he brought to others will live on in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dementia Society of America or Disabled American Veterans in Fred's memory.
