Freda M. Ash

Freda M. Ash, age 88, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in the Canton Christian Home. She was born in Ordway, CO on December 1, 1921 to the late Joseph and Blanche Hesslink. Freda was employed as a secretary with the Ohio Power Company for 22 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of First Christian Church and volunteered at Aultman Hospital for 20 years. She was very active at the Canton Christian Home and enjoyed playing piano and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R. Keith Ash in 1967; and nine siblings. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Mary Ash of Glouster, OH and Gregory and Lynn Ash of North Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Waitis Rogers III of Bloomfield, IN; grandchildren, Pamela, Kristine, Deborah, Brenda, Keith, Jessica, Stephanie, Melissa, Benjamin, Waitis IV, Jeffrey, Wendi, and Jerrica; 21 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald Gene Hesslink and Thomas Dean Hesslink. Funeral services will be Saturday at 12pm in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel, with Pastor Brad Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Calling hours will be Friday (TONIGHT) from 5-8pm and one hour prior to the service from 11am-12pm on Saturday in the funeral home.
