Freda Lee (Doby) Ganssle was
Born April 11, 1942, in
Bisbee, AZ to Fred and Bobbie Doby. She passed away June 12, 2023 in St Louis MO.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert J Ganssle. She is
survived by her sister, Patrisha May; nephew, Brandt May; nieces Lestie Zachary & Megan Lonnon; along with many great nieces & nephews that affectionately call her "Aunt Febes".
She remembered her years fondly growing up on the farm. Family was always important to her.
Freda worked as a registered nurse, getting her diploma from Hotel Dieu, El Paso TX in 1962.She was a caregiver for others in her home as well as helping those in need.
She enjoyed her coin, arrowhead, & stamp collections. Cake decorating, gardening, canning, baking, and sharing the old family classics was always a treat for her. Freda was a "left-handed" artist that loved creating cards & gifts for friends & family.
She learned to play the piano her daddy got for her when she was ten years old. She enjoyed playing and music at family get-togethers.
For the last year, she's been a big fan of the online Wordle game. She made the best stories from her words and shared them with family, daily.
Being an avid reader, her books spanned old westerns to Hemmingway. When she was small, she would rather curl up with a good book inside than to play outside.
Freda was a friend of Bill W. and was an active member in the recovery community in Overland, MO. She sponsored and helped many a friend.
She loves her Grace Community Bible Church of St Louis. She felt quite at home with her church family.
Graveside services are scheduled for Friday 16th at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Florissant, MO. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Robert.
A potluck dinner is planned to celebrate Freda's life at the Olive Branch Facility, 8901 Lackland Rd., Overland, MO, 63114, Saturday, June 24 from 3-6 pm.
