Freda Faye McCool

Freda Faye McCool, daughter of the late William Bill Sumpter and Mary Emilene Herron Sumpter was born at Partridge Kentucky, July 20, 1934. She entered eternal life Monday, September 15, 2025 at her residence in Cowan, Kentucky, being 91 years, 1 month and 25 days of age at time of her passing.

Freda was married to the late Raymond McCool, he passed away March 3, 2003. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and great friend to all that knew her. Freda was a Charter member of the Big Cowan Pentecostal Church now the Whitesburg Holiness Church in Van, Kentucky for 71 years and a member of the Kentucky Colonel.

She is survived by two loving sons, William Jay (Taffie) McCool of Cornetsville, Kentucky, Bobby Wayne (Debbie) McCool of Van Lear, Kentucky, two loving daughters, Sandra Darlene (Artemus) Campbell of Hallie, Kentucky and Delana Sue (Tommy) Caudill of Viper, Kentucky, son-in-law, Delbert Eldridge of of Hallie, Kentucky, three sister, Phyliss, Susan Boaden and Billie Sumpter all of Tennessee, three special nephews, Tommy McCool, Bob Sumpter and Leo Scott, two special nieces, Helen Tolliver and Stephanie Gibson, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

Freda was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Lewis McCool, a daughter, Hazel Mary Ilene Eldridge, eight brothers, Sterlin Sumpter, Ray Sumpter, Roy Sumpter, Ballard Sumpter, David Sumpter, Doc Sumpter, Ellis Sumpter and Timothy Sumpter, five sisters, Juanita, Thelma, Fairy, Mable and Sandy.
