Freda M. Quisenberry, 94, of Bryan, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in College Station, Texas. Born on December 29, 1930, in Amarillo, Texas, to John and Edna Menke, Freda lived a life marked by love, service, and faith.
On May 29, 1969, she married the love of her life, W.R. Quisenberry, in Houston, Texas. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories and deep devotion. Freda dedicated 30 years of her life to the U.S. Postal Service, where she was known for her reliability and warm spirit.
A devoted member of First Baptist Church in Bryan, Freda found great joy in her faith and her church community. She had a passion for quilting and ceramics, hobbies that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Her hands were rarely still, always crafting something beautiful or comforting for those she loved.
Freda is survived by her beloved daughters, Angela Smith and her husband Howard of Deer Park, Texas, and Betty Johnston and her husband Jason of Bryan, Texas. She is also survived by her brother John Menke, his wife Nancy, and their family of Piedmont, California. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren-Shawn Broome, Brandon Pinney, Megan Torre, Bailey Ahmann, and Morgan Pinney-and her six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, W.R. Quisenberry; her son, Douglas Rice, and his wife Karen Rice; and her sister, Lilly Wright, and her husband Stanley Wright.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Freda's honor to Young Life Brazos Valley, an organization close to her heart. https://giving.younglife.org/FQMemory
Freda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle spirit, and the love she poured into her family and community. She will be deeply missed
