Freda Cargill Sims, 93, of North Little Rock, AR. died May 28, 2023. She was born to William Porter and Ruth Hill Cargill on May 16,1930 in Batesville, AR. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Loyd R. Sims; brothers: Troy, J.D., Bernard, and Bill Cargill all of Batesville and a sister, JoAnn Burks of Little Rock, AR.
She is survived by her sons Ben Sims of Little Rock and Marty Sims of Falls Church, Virginia. She is also survived by her three sisters, Betty Westerfield of Dripping Springs, Texas, Clara Bufford of Batesville and Jerrye Blevins of Locust Grove.
Freda was a longtime member of Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, where she taught Bible classes for children and teen girls. She and her husband Loyd enjoyed their church life and were actively involved in several ministries from the earliest days of the Sylvan Hills congregation.
She overcame any hesitation at public speaking and on several occasions spoke to civic and professional organizations on behalf of the March of Dimes.
Later in life, her love of travel took her to over 11 foreign countries and 49 States. She loved to share what she had learned from her travels. She also loved to entertain, having friends and family around the table.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 2nd at 10:30 AM at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ, with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Entombment will follow at 1:00 PM at Rest Hills Mausoleum.
