Freda Young

Freda (Lucas) Young, age 90, of Byron Center, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at her home. Freda was born on June 23, 1931 to the late Gerrit and Jennette (Heuker) Lucas in Houghton Lake, Michigan, and grew up in McBain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gay Young, her daughter, Betty Postma, and several siblings. Surviving are her children, Tiny Young (Jean), Stephen Young (Julie), Tim Young (Cathy), Deborah Watkins (Mike), and Tom Young; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Marge Jimmerson (Pete); her brother, Gordon Lucas (Bonnie); numerous nephews and nieces. A private committal service will take place in Star Cemetery, Jamestown Twp. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
