Freddie "June" Kimble, 83, of Artesia, New Mexico, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones.
Freddie's Life & Legacy:
Freddie, affectionately known as "June," was born on February 9, 1942, in Wharton, Texas, and spent most of his life in Artesia, New Mexico. He was known for his hardworking nature, big heart, and quick sense of humor.
June loved spending time outdoors, visiting with family and friends, and sharing stories that always brought a smile. He took pride in everything he did and found his greatest joy in his family.
Freddie was a trailblazer in business, becoming the only Black man in his community to be in business for 50 years, selling stereo equipment and sporting goods. One of his proudest accomplishments was his role in helping establish the Head Start program in 1968, creating opportunities for children and families in his community. His dedication to helping others reflected his deep care and compassion for people.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Kimble; his mother, Arizona Miles; his sons, Frederick Kimble and Ricky Kimble; and several aunts and uncles.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Nastassia Kimble and Dominique Kimble; four granddaughters Bernadette Aguirre, Breanna Kimble Brandi Kimble and Analycia Olguin. His grandson Bryan Kimble. His great granddaughter Keyanna Aguirre Emma Sejias, Faith Kimble,Alexis Cervantes. Great grandsons Keef Kimble, Inez Agirrue Jeremy Cervantes. a several great-grandchildren who lovingly called him "Grandaddy" Also his beloved watchdog named Samson.He is also survived by extended family and many dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Freddie "June" Kimble will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held for Freddie at 10:00 am on November 15, 2025, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God. He will be laid to rest at Woodbine Cemetery immediately following the service.
