I just heard of Fred's passing. I met Fred through the Unitarian church and solo/discovery years ago. My activities took me away from our common circles in recent years. He was always such the gentleman and spoke fondly of his vineyard endeavor as well as the trips to Florida. He was a modest man- I had no idea of his other endeavors. The world is a better place with him having graced it. My heart and thoughts are with his family @ this time.

I worked with Fred in the Purchasing Department at VEPCO. I remember him as a kind and gentle soul. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Folks
Fred was indeed among the finer folks that anyone could know. His thoughtful caring about everything that I knew of stood out fully.
Thanks for the memories,

Fred was always kind, friendly and open-minded in his thinking. I remember many good times at the Robin Inn, Uni Club and First UU. He came for lunch one cheerful day here in Glen Allen, on his way to tend to his grapes. Fred planted a grapevine from his vineyard in our first home in Richmond. We both have fond memories of Fred and are grieved to hear of his passing.

Page,
I have such warm memories of your Dad. A true gentleman who liked to laugh. By far my strongest impression is how he loved you. Your devoted care of him and companionship in these later years must have meant the world to him. I so wish that Dave and I could be there at your Dad's memorial service on Thursday. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

With love,
Linda

I knew Fred for several years at the First Unitarian Church and Thursday evenings at the Robin Inn, although I lost touch with him a couple of years ago. I remember a trip with him to his vineyard. He was a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to his family.

How I LOVED spending time with your Dad. I hope to work with him in God's vineyard someday. My boys are including "God bless Mr. Bauder- Page's Daddy" in their bedtime prayers.

Fred enriched my life through my association with him at the Unitarian Church, and on Thursday nights at Robin Inn. Particularly interesting to me about Fred was his visionary occupational interests in exploiting unusual agricultural products.

I worked with Fred for many years at Robins, He was a good and kind man as well as an astute businesssman. He introduced me to the Uni Club where I met my wife Sherry,
I went sailing once with Fred on the Potomac and can only say he was fearless at the helm. I am so happy to read that he achieved many of his ambitions and was able to pursue many of his personal interests---and along the way always served his community. Sorry I cannot attend the memorial service.

Page,
Unfortunately, we will be unable to attend the memorial service. We have an appointment at Johns Hopkins on that day. I have many fond memories of your father who introduced me to the joys of sailing, which I have enjoyed immensely until age intervened in recent years. He would have been pleased to know that my daughter, Theresa, recently joined the faculty at UNC, Chapel Hill where she heads a research lab working in genetics & breast cancer.
I trust your happy memories of your father will bring you comfort. You were certainly the star of his life! Frank & I extend our sincere sympathy.
