Frederick C. “Fred” Bausher, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, surrounded by his family, who he cherished above all else. Born on April 6, 1944, he grew into a man whose life was defined by devotion.
A true outdoorsman is where Fred felt most at home. Whether he was hiking, hunting, casting a line into a lake, or camping, he found peace and purpose in nature. He shared that love generously and taught those around him to enjoy nature’s simple wonders. He served as a Boy Scout Leader for many years.
Family was the heart of his life. He was steady, loving, and gave without hesitation and unconditionally. His greatest pride was being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
Fred is survived by his wife of 31 years, Maureen Bausher; daughters, Christina (Tod) Coles, Valerie (Paul) Fisher, Melanie (James) Newton, and Elizabeth (Matt) Bernstein; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Dan (Julie) Plott. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bausher and Mary Jane Plott; brothers, Ralph, Mark, and Lewis Plott; sister, Virginia Plott; aunt, Stella Schrader; and uncle and aunt, Thomas and Marilyn Bausher.
All are welcome for visitation on December 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Lamielll Funeral Home, Canton, where the service will follow immediately at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Bowman Cemetery, Pike Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests Memorial Contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop 42, an organization very near and dear to Fred.
Those who knew him will remember his gentleness, warm smile, and the way he made everyone feel valued. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and these may be shared at: www.lamiellfuneralhome.com.
