Frederick Colucci Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maiorano Funeral Home - Waterbury on Dec. 24, 2025.
Fred W. Colucci, age 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, December 19, 2025, in the comfort of his home. He was the devoted husband of Theresa (Zasimovich) Colucci.

Born in Waterbury on July 24, 1940, Fred was the son of the late Frederick and Eleanor (Vaccarelli) Colucci. He was a graduate of Kaynor Technical High School and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, stationed aboard the U.S.S. Coates. Fred dedicated more than 50 years of his life to his trade as a skilled carpenter and was a member of Carpenter's Union Local #210.

In his leisure time, Fred pursued his many passions. An avid hunter and accomplished expert in firearms and archery, he was a longtime member of the Torrington Gun Club. He had a deep appreciation for Western and Native American culture, as well as a keen interest in American and Civil War history. Fred especially enjoyed watching classic Western movies and television shows, a pastime that brought him great enjoyment.

In addition to Terry, his wife of 57 years, Fred is survived by his daughters Brina Mason and her husband Tom of Florida, Darlene Elwell and her husband Thomas of California, and Deana Colucci of Massachusetts; his beloved grandchildren Bret Colucci, Jr., Sterling Mason, and Hunter Mason. He also leaves his daughter-in-law Jean Young-Colucci and his brother John Colucci and his wife Carol of Wolcott, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Bret L. Colucci and his sister Mary Ann Brownlee.

All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Maiorano Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements. To sign the online guestbook or to leave online condolences for the family, please visit www.maioranofuneralhome.com.
