Mr. Floss was a wonderful teacher and mentor. !!! RIP Mr. Floss...

Fred was such a sweet man! So very kind and so easy to talk too. When he was in Florida, my mother and I cleaned his and Mary's home. Rest in peace Fred and Mary.

A heartfelt "thank you" to all who left a message here in the guest book. Your kind words and touching stories have helped us through this difficult time. These tributes are a wonderful testament to a life well lived and a man very much loved.

Mr Floss was an awesome teacher. He made Science fun and interesting. He was so helpful when you didn't understand something. Here is to a great teacher that will be greatly missed.

Another great Maryvale teacher is taken from us. Ms. Floss was dad's friend so long and worked together for many years. Tough to lose guys like them. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace.

Mr. Floss was my science teacher many years ago. He was one of my influences in perusing an Engineering degree where I actually obtained my BSEE and worked for NASA over 20 years. I still occasionally think of him. Mostly when I want to cool off my coffee. His question was by leaving the spoon in a cup of hot liquid, will it cool faster or slower? I leave my spoon in the cup. RIP Mr. Floss.

Mr. Floss was my science teacher. What an intelligent, kind, caring man. I just happened to be thinking of him a few days ago in his paisley shirt and brown pants. Great teacher who will be sorely missed !! My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Floss was the reason I loved science so much. I've thought of him often in past several decades. From this obit, I can tell he was also a much loved man outside of school as well. He left a great legacy to all of us from Maryvale. RIP, my friend.

My deepest sympathy for the family of Mary and Fritz. Fritz was an awesome man and was always held in highest regard with both my Mom (Pat Floss Absolom) and myself. Remembering with fondness when you almost all came to Syracuse to visit and either Steve or Martin caught the silver carp. So, I hope Heaven can stand another FLoss party. Your folks have a lot of company.

Fred Floss was one of the best and nicest teachers at Maryvale. I was in the class of 61 and he always took the time to chat with me and many others.He was soft spoken and and always had a kind word to share. I'm sure his family will miss him. Blessings to the family.Sharon McGuire Okoniewski.

Mr. Floss was one of my most memorable teachers at MHS. I became a science teacher and I firmly believe his class had an impact on that decision. His name often came up in my own classes when I regaled my students with stories from my past and the teachers that had a positive influence on me. RIP Mr. Floss. You will be missed.
