Frederick “Fred” T. Hartsorn

With profound sadness, the family of Fred T. Hartsorn announces his passing at the age of 87 on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Shirley A. Hartsorn; He leaves behind two daughters, Linda (Arthur) Sidick and Peggy (Louis) Troiani; and two grandsons, Joshua (Macie) and Jacob Troiani.

Honorably discharged, Fred proudly served in the U.S. Army where he met his first love, a 10-Speed Manual Rio Truck which he drove throughout his time in the service. Although he enjoyed his life’s work as a machinist, tool and die maker, and machine schematics teacher, his favorite hobby was always tinkering with cars.

Throughout the years, he fixed many cars, changed multiple motors, converted vehicles from automatic to stick, and built a Jeep from the ground up. Always animal lovers, through the years, Shirley and Fred adopted and took in many stray dogs that they spoiled and loved dearly. Later in life, they found great pleasure in feeding and watching the squirrels in their backyard, with the dogs at their side on their glider.

A wonderful and kind man who was very much respected and liked by all who met him, who always put his wife and daughters first, and was the best Dad in the world, will be missed dearly.
