Frederick Lamback Obituary
Frederick served his country for years as a Corpsman Assistant in the U.S. Navy. He retired after more than forty years at Augusta Newsprint. An avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, bowler, swimmer, triathlete, and hunter, Frederick lived life to the fullest. He was a swim coach for veterans and athletes with disabilities, Augusta Swim League, Blaze Sports, and Episcopal Day School. He also coached many sports with the Richmond County Recreation Department. He loved helping athletes of any age reach their goals.
Family members include his wife: Donna Lamback; children: Kay Taylor (Tony), Susan Stephens, Laurie Lamback, Frederick Lamback IV (Lee), Julia Herring (Matthew), Lantz Lamback (Ashley), and Paul Lamback (Lauren); nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson's Foundation at https://www.parkinson.org/ or Friends of the Augusta Library at https://friends.arcpls.org/donations/.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484.
