I´ve just heard of Fred´s passing many months after and am deeply saddened.
I met Fred at a brain injury talk given by Constance Miller in 2002, several months after an injury accident and hired him as my injury lawyer. He knew the doctors to send me to and I was properly diagnosed with traumatic brain injury.
Fred wrote the foreword to my book about my experience about living after tbi. (From Brain Injury to Brain Awakening) 2015
Words cannot express my deep appreciation for all he did for me.
Ever encouraging, kind, compassionate. He made a huge impact that increased the quality of my life.

I talked to Fred about becoming an attorney around 2 years ago. Two things stuck out to me during our time, first he said that "if you don't feel bad after a loss you didn't advocate hard enough." The second was that he told me "it sounds like public law would be a good fit for you." And he was right, I've had the privilege of working at a courthouse for about a year and a half and I want to go to law school in 2023 and become a public defender. Whatever Fred saw in me was true, and that's a testament to his character. I may have only met him for a couple of hours and I regret that I didn't follow up with him after our conversation but I hope this memory can still live on in the Langer family, I know I'll remember it.
