God welcomed the best Christian, son, husband, father, friend, coach, lobbyist, & OU FAN to Heaven with open arms. He said "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Your work on earth is done!"
Leigh was born in OKC, OK & attended OKC 1st Nazarene Church his entire life. He loved God, his family, sports and Gospel music in equal measure. He went to OU games from the time he was 10 until his back gave out at 75 & TV took over. OU softball was a joy to watch, as well.
He graduated from Harding High in 1958, served in the Air National Guard while at OCU playing baseball & graduating in 1962. On Friday, July 13th, "62 he married the preacher's daughter he had been dating for 4 years and stayed in love for the next 63.5 years. 10 months later their first son, Richard was born followed by Kevin in 1970.
Leigh coached at Central H.S., Capitol Hill Jr. High, & finally at Bethany H.S. before he went into Association Mgmt. with the OK. State Realtors Assoc. & then became the Exec. & lobbyist for the Automobile Manufacturers Assoc. for 28 years. He also served as President of the OK. Society of Association Executives, as did Gov. George Nigh. Leigh was instrumental in the seat belt laws being passed in 6 states to save lives. In retirement, he owned Therapeutic Services Group in Bethany for 16 years & helped many through massage and reflexology.
He was a highly recruited slow pitch softball player until his knees gave out, but he continued to know all about any sport and won many a sports trivia contest. Gospel music was another passion, singing baritone in the Stable Rock Quartet for 24 years. Leigh also loved serving his church as Sunday School Superintendent & Church Board Pres. and member for many years.

Leigh is survived by his wife, Linda, sister, Barbara Pirrong & family, cousin, Graydon Dawson & family, sons Richard (Sharon), Kevin (Amy) & grandchildren, Tori Nichols, Kayla Glaze, Conner (Gabi) Nichols, Jennifer Massey, Kevin (Julia) Massey, Natalie (Rob) Kathain, Tori (Luis) Rendon & Jake Melvin. Beloved great grands are Christian, Kennedy, Axyl, & Jett Massey, Jackson & Ryder Kathain, and Lucca & Leo Rendon.
A Boomer Sooner Homegoing Celebration will be on Sat., Feb.21, 10 a.m. at OKC. First Church, 4400 N.W. Expwy., OKC. You are welcome to wear OU Crimson & Cream.
