Frederick “Fred” Pearce, age 81, of Silvis passed away peacefully at his residence with his family nearby on Monday, February 9th, 2026 after a brief illness.
Per his wishes, his cremation will be followed with a private family ceremony. Schroder Mortuary in Silvis is assisting the family.
Fred was born on August 25th, 1944 in Rock Island. He was raised by his loving mother Alice (Blankenship) Pearce and Uncle Herbert Blankenship. He attended Rock Island schools and graduated from Rocky in 1962. He completed his painting apprenticeship and later began his own business, Fred Pearce Painting and Decorating. He married Mary Walker on September 20th, 1969 in Rock Island.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary and his three children, Frederick Pearce of Moline, Brieanna (Kye) Roth of North Liberty, and Tyler (Nicki) Pearce of Utica; and seven grandchildren, Alexis, Freddie, Haden, James, Liam, Tenley, and Noah. He was preceded in death by his mother and beloved uncle.
Fred was an avid sports and car enthusiast and could often be found drinking coffee and talking with other “regulars” at his favorite diners. He enjoyed the many years he spent coaching his children in various sports and liked working with his hands and helping his family take care of their homes while passing on his knowledge. He was a father and husband that served his family through countless small acts of love and attention and will be deeply missed. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
