Lt. Col. Frederick J. Reisinger USMC (ret.)



Frederick J. Reisinger, age 78, died in his home September 17, 2009.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Kurt Reisinger, grandchildren, Patricia and Jeffrey and son-in-law, Ken Butrym. Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene P. Reisinger of Woodbridge, VA, daughters: Teresa A. Halsema (John) of Burke, VA, Mary Pat Butrym of Virginia Beach, VA and Kathleen Palmer (John) of Two Rivers, WI, sons, Fred Reisinger, Jr. (Christine) of Virginia Beach, VA and John Reisinger of Woodbridge, VA. Grandchildren: Joseph, Maureen, Kenny, Brad, Samantha, Kristine, Allison, Jim, Ashley, Meredith and Mathew. Great grandchildren: Chloe, Colin and Baby Henna.

Fred was born in New York City; graduated Fordham University in 1953; served in Vietnam and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1980. Fred last served as Business Manager at Bishop Ireton High School. At St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church , Fred was a 4th degree Knight, Director of the Ministers of Care and a member of the Legion of Mary.

A visitation and celebration of Fred's life will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 6-9 PM at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd. Dale City, VA.

A mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Friday, September 25, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 12805 Valleywood Dr, Woodbridge, VA. The interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation in honor of Lt.Col.Frederick J. Reisinger at : Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 3800 Fettler Park Drive, Suite 104, Dumfries, VA 22025.
