Frederick "Fred" Scheller

Frederick Gilmore "Fred" Scheller, 89, of Taneytown, MD, died October 22, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. Born November 18, 1935, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Harry Gilmore and Naomi Mae (Dayhoff) Scheller. Fred was the devoted husband of Betty Victoria Scheller, celebrating 72 years on October 10th. Fred worked for Random House in Westminster for over 30 years, as well as enjoying a job with NAPA Auto Parts deliveries. He was an antique car enthusiast and a member of Antique Automobile Club of America. He held a special fondness for Cushman Scooters, and loved his 64 ½ Mustang… possibly even regarding it as the best member of his family. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Debra Keith of Taneytown, Steven Scheller and wife Deborah of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mike Scheller and wife Gail of Hanover, PA, and Mark Scheller and wife Tonya of Ocala, FL; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral service to honor Fred will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025, 11:00 AM, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., 136 E Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD 21787, with Pastor Stephanie Steele officiating. Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery, Keymar. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, October 27, at the funeral home.
