Dad,
I miss you very much. It's been almost 1 year since you've been gone. We gave your new grandson your name as his middle name. Tashi has your color eyes. Every time I look at him I think of you. I wish you were here to hold him. Alani asks about Poppy Simrell often. We think about her playing with the chicken stuffed animal on your deck and you laughing. I love you dad. Love~"Punky"

I Love You Grandpa and Miss You soo much I wish you never Left me....

The letter I wrote to Grandpa before he passed away....

Dear Grandpa,

I’m not allowed to come and see you, and I understand why you wished that we don’t, but I wanted to say goodbye. I love you so much. More than you could imagine. I know you’re in pain and I understand why you made this decision. I just wished you weren’t going to leave us. Over the years you’ve always been there for me, and everything I wanted to do with my life, you’ve never once criticized, but instead you told me to pursue it. It’s never hard saying goodbye and as much as I don’t want to I know it has to be done, and that was your decision. You’ve always told me to pursue my dreams, and I’m going to do that for you, pursue everything I want in life and succeed. Ill always remember you as you were. Your bright smiling face, the laugh you had when we all sat around the table, the smile you had at my games, recitals, graduation, whatever the occasion was, you were there. Ill always remember the good times we shared, the backyard games, cookouts with the family, Christmas, and even fighting with you over BugerKing or Wendy’s. Ill never forget, but always miss, never stop going, but always succeed, just for you. And I know you’ll always be there, at my sweet 16 dancing by my side, graduation sitting up there watching me walk across stage, Christmas with the family, and even one day at my wedding, holding my hand as I’m walking down the aisle, you’ll be there. But I know your going to a better place and I’m happy no more pain. I love you Grandpa no one can ever take the place of you, Ever.
Don’t forget to be with me always and forever....
Love you,
One day ill see you again....
Ashley

Grandpa, as I pusue my goals in life watch over me, guide me with you love and your helping hand...

Dad,

It has been a week since since you left us a week filled with tears, sorrow, loneliness and sometimes laughter. We have shared many memories of you and it comforts us. You were a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. We were very blessed to have you. You were and still are an inspiration to many people. I know that you are at peace now and your pain is gone, but our pain is still with us. We miss you so much but we will think of you everyday. I know no matter what you do you will be with us watching over us. We want to thank you for all the times that we cried, you comforted us, all the times that we had trouble, you guided us, and all the times we laughed, you laughed with us. Speaking of laughing we will miss your laugh the most. You lit up a room everytime you walked in everyone waiting for what joke you were going to tell.
Dad, we just wanted you to know that we love you very much and truely respected you. Your grandkids love and miss you and they will never forget there Grandpa. I know that each of them will cherish their memories of you.
Dad, you had a fullfilling life a life you should be proud of you are truely one of a kind. You are the bravest man we ever met and so now its our turn to be brave and tell you good-bye. We love and miss you and someday we will be together again

Joanne and Family;
I was surprised by the news of Fred but from my understanding he was ready. We all have shared some good times and they will be fondly remembered. Kenny said he first thought of Fred telling the joke deisel fitter(these will fit her)and the way he laughed all the way thru it.
We were so fortunate to see him on our trip up in May.
May all your fondest memories help you thru the tough times and knowing that he's telling his silly jokes to someone up there.
God Bless you all.

To the whole Simrell family, we express our sympathy for your loss. Know that Fred is in the loving arms of his Father and does rest in peace. As believers, God's promise is that you will be together forever. Though healing is painful and your sorrow is great, keep your eye on Jesus and your eternal home in Heaven where you will once again join Fred. Sincerely, The Simonds family
