I was so sorry to hear about our loss of Fred. We were friends for many years and had many fun experiences on the tennis court. Fred was a really good player but none of us ever took the game too seriously. We always had a good time afterwards consuming a few cocktails and solving the Worlds problems!
The things that I will miss most about him were his great stories and keen sense of humor. He was one funny guy!
I also know he had an unbelievable rapport with his students. He always had great stories about the relationship that he developed with them. He oftentimes invited them to his dinner parties and frequently met them in other social settings. Not many college students are lucky enough to have a professor that cares that much about them.
My thoughts are with everyone who knew and loved him...

Fred and I played golf here in Sarasota together before his stroke. Fred was a great tennis player also but I never had the chance for a match. My wife and I lived close to his family here at the golf course and his wife Kathy and three daughters would socialize with my wife Cindy and our daughters.
Fred was a very interesting man and was a great Professor at New College and
he is missed by all. God Bless.
