The quote; "With the Heart of a Spartan and the Faith of a Child", never applied to anyone more than it applied to Freddy Swaim. Sometimes Freddy was accused of having a short temper; however, as I grew to know Freddy better I came to an epiphany. Freddy was never an angry person at all; but instead, Freddy cared deeply, profoundly, and passionately about the things around him and he was one of the most genuine people I have ever known.
Freddy was a wealthy man, but he spent countless hours devoting himself to underprivileged children through the Boy's Clubs of America. He spent even more time coaching and mentoring children through youth sports, again because Freddy cared deeply. And, all of the children he coached and mentored are better people today for the experience.
Paris, Texas; is just a little better place today; because, Freddy's journey took him through it.
