Frederick Joseph Visconti Sr. of Newburgh, NY and Lake Worth, FL died on May 24, 2009 at his home in Lake Worth surrounded by several family members. He was 77 years old and the husband of Marion Marcantano Visconti for 56 years. He was the son of the late Joseph Visconti and Carmella Parren Visconti and was born on June, 29, 1931 in Newburgh. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1949 and served as a Sergeant for the Marine Helicopter Squadron 161 during the Korean War. He was the retired owner of Windsor Motel in New Windsor and a retired sales consultant of Spartan Motors, and was ranked one of the top 35 sales consultants for Mercedes Benz. He was a past member of the Newburgh Elks Club and past President of both Unico and Optimist Clubs. As a Newburgh City Committeeman in the 1960's, he was laude d by Robert Kennedy and Major Wagner of New York City. He was survived by his wife Marion Marcantano Visconti, his three sons and their spouses: Fred Visconti and Brigid of Ridgefield, CT, Glenn Visconti and his wife Diane of Newburgh, and Michael Visconti and Christine of Paramus, NJ, his brother Nick Visconti of Loxahatehee, FL, his sisters: Josephine Visconti of Newburgh, Lena Temple of Alta Loma, CA, Carmella Beingardo of Bayonet Point, FL, and Rose Ronsini of New Windsor, and his eight grand-children, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his son Mark Visconti, his brother Frederick Visconti, and his sisters: Marilyn Colon and Mary Hatala. There will be no public visitation. Memorial Mass will be held May 30, 2009 at 10 am at St. Francis Church, Benkard Ave in Newburgh, Father John Vondras will officiate. Following the Mass, family and friends will proceed to Calvary Cemetery for the Burial of the cremains in the Visconti family plot.
