Frederick (Fritz) Wiroll Jr., age 74, beloved husband of Linda A. (Giordano) Wiroll, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, with his family by his side.

Born in Chelsea on February 22, 1951, he was the son of the late Frederick Wiroll Sr. and Mary V. (Brawley) Wiroll. Fred lived in Billerica for most of his life before moving to Nashua four years ago.

Fred was deeply involved in his community, coaching many youth sports teams in Billerica, and was a familiar, supportive presence at his grandchildren's sporting events.

Fred was a friend to all-there was never a place he went where he didn't know someone or make a new friend. His laughter and energy were contagious, and people were naturally drawn to him. His meatball recipe was unmatched-just like he was. Some of his favorite memories were spent at his best friend Eddy's cabin in New Hampshire and at his sister Cathy's house in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

Fred cherished time with his family above all else, especially his grandchildren, who were his greatest pride and joy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Jamison Wiroll and his wife Sarah of Alabama, Robert Locke Jr. and his wife Jillian of Billerica, and Daniel Wiroll and his wife Jessica of Andover; his daughters: Melissa Baker and her husband John of Tennessee, Jill Stuart and her husband Michael of Townsend, and Lindsay Judge and her husband Michael of Swampscott; his brothers: John Wiroll of Merrimack, NH, and Joe Wiroll of Billerica; his sisters: Theresa Cassin of New Hampshire, Cathleen Martell of Tewksbury, and Mary Ellen Mendes of Pepperell. He is also survived by 13 beloved grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by his brothers Michael and Brian Wiroll.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 1, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew's the Evangelist Parish, St. Theresa Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica. Burial will follow at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Fred's name to the Jimmy Fund at www.jimmyfund.org.

I gasped when I saw this on FB. My heart is broken for Linda and his family. I went to school with Fritz thru 9th grade and it was so much fun catching up at the Alumni reunion a few years back. My condolences and prayers. RIP my school friend.
