Fredericka Heloise Nelson was born on December 17, 1938, in Colón, Panamá, to Agnes Ruth Lewis and Christopher Adolfo Lewis. She was raised in humble beginnings as the eldest of fourteen children, where she learned responsibility early in life by helping care for her siblings. These early experiences shaped the strength, independence, and determination that defined her throughout her life.
She was a proud graduate of Abel Bravo High School in Colón, Panamá. As a young woman, Fredericka sought opportunities to improve life for her family and eventually relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she worked tirelessly and built a life rooted in perseverance and faith.
Fredericka was the mother of six children: Xiomara Hill, Miguel Molinar, Maritza Molinar, Daltia Lewis, Aixa Lewis, and Giovanni Nelson. With limited means but deep devotion, she sewed clothing for her children, altered garments to fit just right, and ensured her family was always cared for with dignity and pride.
In addition to raising her children, Fredericka also raised two of her grandchildren, Jennifer Elizabeth Rodriguez and Jessica Sarah Lewis, playing a significant role in their upbringing and faith foundation.
Later in life, Fredericka moved to Florida, where she spent her remaining years. She was known for her bold personality, honesty, and unmistakable presence. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing with precision, and took great pride in her appearance. Her nails were always done, her style carefully chosen, and she carried herself with confidence and color, like a peacock in her own right.
Her faith was central to her life. She prayed often and entrusted all things to God.
Fredericka is survived by her six children, twenty grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her legacy lives on through the generations shaped by her strength, sacrifice, and resilience.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeside Funeral Home & Cremation Care's Life Celebration Suite in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Friends and family are welcome to gather, share memories, and offer their respects during this memorial event.

Following the Celebration of Life, a brief interment service will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, from 1:00 pm to 1:15 pm, where Fredericka will be laid to rest.
Funeral arrangements have been lovingly overseen by Lakeside Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Fredericka Heloise Nelson's memory will continue to be honored and cherished by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
