Brauer, Fredric C. "Bud"

Fredric Charles "Bud" Brauer, 86, of Glendale, Wisconsin, died peacefully at the Milwaukee Catholic Home on November 27, 2025.

Fredric was born on May 25, 1939 in Milwaukee to Oscar and Margaret (Smith) Brauer, and quickly became "Bud/Buddy" to those who loved him. He attended St. Robert School and Messmer High School (Class of 1957) before studying business at Marquette University. In 1961, Bud married his high school sweetheart, Mary Rose (Hemmeter) and their family quickly came into full bloom.

Bud is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Mary, and their children: Mike (Maggi) Brauer and their children Molly, Erin, Calli (fiance' Trevor), and Kevin; Kathy (Bob) Jablonowski and their children Ethan (Bekki) and their daughter Lainey, Mary Beth, Sarah (Danny) Yadgir, and Hannah; Patty (John) O'Neil and their children Katie, Maggie (Adam Margulies), Ellie (fiance' Thomas), Carrie and Mollie; Dan (Sue) Brauer and their children Megan (Mark) Hubatch and her son, Elijah Krohn, Max, Annie (Nick) Doty, and Emma; Susie (Andy) Albrightson and their children Abbie and Grace; Kari (Tim) Nau and their children Patrick, Bridget, and Jack. Two additional great-grandchildren, Baby Yadgir and Baby Doty, are expected in February and April of 2026, respectively.

Bud is survived by his brother, Tim, and sister, Kristy (Brian) Hammernik and his sister-in-law, Carolyn Shapaker. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Gary, and his brother-in-law, Dan Hemmeter.

On October 16, 2006, Bud received an organ donation. By the grace of God and the profound decision by the grieving family to donate his organs, a new heart and kidney extended Bud's life for over 19 years. Bud and his family remain deeply grateful to God, to Gabriel and his family, and to the transplant team at Aurora St. Luke's for the gift of these additional years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The family will greet friends from 9:30am-10:45am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Whitefish Bay. Reflections from Bud's children will follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00am. Private inurnment at Saint Francis Borgia Cemetery, Cedarburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Messmer High School, Dominican High School, Milwaukee Catholic Home, or to Donate Life Wisconsin (organ donor network).
