Worked with Fred at Heinz for almost ten years. We took the Police test together. Saw him at our 50 th anniversary at the FOP. Great guy.

My brother Kenneth Rocks and Fred served in the 18th together. I met Fred during that time. He was a good man. We would see each other throughout the years I lived in Philly. Last time I saw Fred was at my Brothers Wake and funeral. So sorry for your loss.

Linda and the Potter family; please accept the condolences of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment: the veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia. Fred was one of us, one of our own. Fred's name will be enroll on the list of our honored dead, his name will be published in our quarterly newsletter and announced at the Memorial Service at our annual reunion. As grateful Americans we should all pause and salute this mam, an honorable veteran and a 35 year dedicated public servant, who was willing to sacrifice and put his life on the line for his country and his fellow man. As our burial liturgy states: "his life has not ended, merely changed " and as we were together then in Vietnam, we will be together again in the life hereafter, warmly embraced in the arms of our heavenly Father. Chaplain Bill 11th ACVVC (Vietnam 71/72)

I am stunned and saddened to find this out about my dear friend Fred. I've known Fred for years from the gym. Just recently over the past few weeks Fred was giving me a ride to the gym after I had surgery. That's the kind of guy he was. We had a lot in common growing up in blue collar neighborhoods of Philly in the 60s. And I especially loved his stories about his summers spent in the Villas way back in the day. I will miss Fred so much I can't even find the words to express it. My condolences and prayers to all his family. He truly was one of the finest men I ever met.
