So sorry to read that Rik passed away. l worked with him in the lab at Boise Cascade for many years. He was the best boss that I ever had. I learned a lot from him and loved his sense of humor and the way he expressed himself. I enjoyed meeting him for breakfast occasionally after the mill closed down, we always had interesting conversations. Will miss him.

Looking at the paper last week I saw Rik's picture and recognized him immediately. He was my cousin. We moved to Vancouver just 2 years ago from Seattle. So sad to find out that we were so close yet had lost contact some 45+ years ago and didn't know it. My deepest condolences for your lose.
