It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frenchie Crystal Day Alderman, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on May 10, 2025, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. Born on November 5, 1933, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Frenchie was the daughter of Abner Earl Day and Eunice Day.
Frenchie's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie Harold Alderman, and is survived by her two devoted daughters, Renee Martin (Jim) of Clinton and Michelle Andrews (John) of Crystal Springs. Frenchie was a proud grandmother to Emily Cheatham (Seth) of Madison and Ryan Martin (Sonya) of Charleston, SC, and a cherished great-grandmother to Brantley Cheatham and Jaxson Cheatham. Her family was her world, and she found immense joy in their accomplishments and happiness.
A woman of great intellect and ambition, Frenchie graduated from Nursing School at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. In 1973, she furthered her education by earning her Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Her exceptional skills and compassionate care were evident during her tenure as a CRNA at Rankin General Hospital and Hinds General Hospital, where she worked tirelessly until her well-deserved retirement. Outside of her professional life, Frenchie had a passion for nurturing the beautiful things in life. She found solace and happiness in her flower garden, where she would spend countless hours tending to her plants, finding beauty in every bloom. However, nothing brought her more joy than the time she spent with her family. The laughter and love shared during special gatherings and everyday moments were the treasures she held most dear.
Frenchie was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church, where she found community and fellowship. Her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her through both joyous and challenging times.
As we remember Frenchie Crystal Day Alderman, we celebrate not only her remarkable achievements and contributions to those around her but also the gentle spirit and love that she shared so abundantly. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us of the importance of love, family, and faith.
A graveside service will be held in her honor on May 13, 2025, at 10:30 AM at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. We invite all who knew and loved Frenchie to join us in celebrating her life and the profound impact she had on so many.
