Frieda Geraldine Moore

Freida Boyd Moore (An Avid Alabama Fan), of Pensacola, Florida died at home on Thursday, January 20, 2022, after a brief illness. Freida was born and reared in Cleburne County, Heflin, Alabama. She was a longtime member of Gonzalez Methodist Church. Freida graduated from The University of Alabama in 1946. She taught kindergarten students at Gulf Breeze Elementary for over 20 years, retiring in 1986. After retiring from teaching she was employed with Beasley Jewelers in various positions, she loved her time there. Freida was a loving wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She had so much love for her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Lawrence (Bill) Moore; her parents, William Franklin Boyd and Annie Cleora Striplin Boyd; her brother, Frank Lamar Boyd, and her grandson Ellis Faye Porch III; also her cousins, Jack Striplin, Lewis Johnson, Norris Johnson and Mary Nelle Thrash Russell. She is survived by her five children and spouses: Sandra Ann Moore Carpenter (John), William Lawrence "Billy" Moore III (Carol), Susan Moore Siegel (Mark), Lesa Marie Moore Taylor (Anthony), and Laurie Lynn Moore (Brad). She also proudly leaves her eight grandchildren; Stephanie, Claire, Will, Kristin, Murray, Matthews, Paul and Boyd; 15 great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Jo Hand Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home, North. She will be transported to her home church in Chulafinnee, Alabama for burial. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Bill Moore, Brad Miller, Larry White, Will Moore, Paul and Boyd Siegel, Murray and Matthew Legg.
