Fue Lun Hom

Fue Lun Hom, 93, of Lansdale, PA, passed away on December 3, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Foo Song Hom for 53 years, who preceded her in death in 2017.
Lun or "Lonnie" as she was known to many, was welcomed into the world as Fue Lun Wong by her parents Howe Soo and Quan Shee Wong on September 19, 1932, in Williamsport, PA.
Lun earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Ursinus College in 1954. She went on to earn her medical degree from Temple University in 1958. She completed her medical education with her Pediatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a Pediatric Cardiology fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She worked in the Philadelphia area as a pediatrician. Shortly after, she met Foo Song or "Phil," while bowling during a Chinese Christian Church and Center fellowship night. They married on June 23, 1963, at the same church and moved to Detroit, MI, to start their married life. She worked as a pediatrician in the Well Baby Clinics for the City of Detroit.
Lun and Phil moved around from Detroit, MI, to Morris Plains, NJ, back to the Detroit area and then, Safety Harbor, FL, due to Phil's career as a Pharmaceutical Research Chemist, over the years. Along the way their family grew with the addition of their son, Tobin, and then later their daughter, Karen. Lun took on another career later in life managing the attendance office of Countryside High School (where both her children attended) and was beloved by students and staff alike. After 41 years in Florida, Lun moved to Lansdale, PA, in 2021.
Lun was a loving and devoted wife, dedicated and caring mother, warm and welcoming mother-in-law, and a fun and doting grandmother. In her 90s, she was still sharp and full of life! She was always up for a game of Mahjong, Rummikub, Rummy, or Scrabble. She was loved by her whole family and all her friends and will be greatly missed!
Lun was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Wee Wong; sister, Fue Lane Yee; brothers-in-law, Harry Yee, Song Kai Hom, Ate Song Hom and Yeow Song Hom; sisters-in-law, Minnie Wong, Helen Graeff, Sue Fong Yee Hom, and Pui Wan Yee Hom.
Love for Lun will continue through the memories of her son and precious daughter-in-law, Toby and Pat Hom, her daughter and devoted son-in-law, Karen and Andrew Chu; her four cherished grandchildren, Olivia Hom, Matthew Hom, Joshua Chu and Rebecca Chu; her brothers, Hip Wong, Nim (Oy) Wong, Neun Wong; sisters-in-law, Gloria Wong and Yukshan Hom; and her beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and many dedicated and caring friends.
Viewing will be on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 1:30-3:00pm and the Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Pastor Wayne Lee, will follow from 3:00-4:30pm at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
