Fumiko "Doris" Updegraff, 95, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at her residence with family by her side.

She was born October 28, 1929, in Korea, but resided in Japan. She was the daughter of the late Otomatsu Kimura and Sueyo (Goto) Kimura. She was whisked off her feet by a US Air Force soldier, Arthur J. Updegraff, in 1951, married him, then left her homeland Japan, to begin a journey with the love of her life in the United States.

Her beloved husband of 73 years, Arthur J. Updegraff of Mechanicsburg, survives her, as well as two faithful daughters: Linda L. Spotts and her husband Randy of Mechanicsburg, PA and Sandra J. Corman and her husband William of Shippensburg, PA. Also surviving are four grandsons: Shannon Spotts (Brooke), Shaun Spotts, Todd Corman and Bryce Corman (Jeanette), seven great-grandchildren and her sister: Mieko Kawakami in Japan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Deborah I. Updegraff, five brothers and two sisters in Japan and a brother in California.

Fumiko enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was meticulous in all her endeavors and results were amazing. Her greatest joy was supporting and spending time with her family and network of close friends. She looked forward to family visits and was proud of each family member and loved each one dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 5000 West Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service in the church. Burial will follow in the Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.

Memorials can be made in her memory to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
