Ms. Bair was born January 6, 1939, in Roxbury, a daughter of the late Albert Martin and Mable (Stoner) Rosenberry. She graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1956 and directly began working at the former Sears-Roebuck as her first employer.
Bonita married George on April 21, 1957 and she recently recalled to her family, "We had a good life." In 1959 she and George built the Sunoco Gas and service station in Spring Run. Bonita was a businesswomen, operating a retail shop selling Ski-Doo, Arctic Cat and Carhartt products and contracting with the US Postal Service, delivering mail to the various post offices within their district. When not working, Bonita found time to volunteer in the community, being active with organizations like the local Farm Women, Ladies Auxiliary of the Fannett-Metal Fire & Ambulance Co., and Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 232, Dry Run. Bonita was also a member of the Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church and would help organize the annual Turkey Supper, providing several recipes still used today. She was well-known for her pies, and it was nothing for her to bake dozens of pies to donate to the Path Valley Picnic.
Bonita loved to cook, bake and share her culinary talents with her family. She enjoyed preparing large meals to enjoy with family, friends and anyone who would appreciate a delicious meal. Outside the kitchen, traveling, shopping, sewing, playing cards, bird watching and gardening were some of the things that brought joy to the loving wife, mother, grand and great grandmother.
