Oehmke children & families,
My deepest sympathy to all of you. Ever since we moved to Middlesex Rd in 1964, your family was part of my life. So many memories, so many good times....

"A sailor has passed away today." You failed to make your battle stations during general quarters. You are now relieved from your watch. A job well done fellow navy war veteran. Many may not have known you or even cared, but to us veterans you are what America is all about. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom and democracy. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. The carrier has turned into the wind preparing for your final departure. The plank is in place and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Smooth sailing shipmate. A Navy Vietnam Veteran.
