G. Franklin Rickett, 90, of Sullivan, died Monday, March 18, 2024 at his residence.
Frank was born February 20, 1934 in Nova, Ohio to George and Ada {Batdorff} Rickett.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Ashland University in 1967. He served in the US Army.
He married Shirley Poff in 1962. She died January 27, 2018.
Frank started in insurance sales and then became director of adult services at Dale-Roy, he then worked for Ashland City water treatment plant. He participated in many entrepreneurial pursuits throughout his life. Frank was a member of Gideon’s International and attended various local churches. He spent the last 40 years of his life working around the family farm, where he grew up. Frank enjoyed flying and earned his private pilot’s license. Those who knew him recognized his deep love of nature, and how proud he was of his kids and grandchildren.
Frank will be deeply missed by his children Louise (Tom) Goldsmith, Laura (Ron) Mosher, Lynnette (Ray Thompson) Davis, and Clinton G. Rickett; grandchildren Matthew (Luke Boly) Goldsmith, Christine (Matthew) King, Daniel Mosher, Brandon Mosher, Megan Mosher, Chris Davis, Michaela Davis, Ella Rickett, Lauren Rickett, and Mckenna Rickett.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, brother Ralph Rickett, sisters Ann Haag, Lucinda Strine, Mary Keck.
Friends may call Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, 1058 US 250 North Ashland, Ohio 44805. Graveside services and burial will be Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:45 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held.
