Gabrielle Theresa Hess

Gabrielle (Gabby, as we knew her) was a sweet, loving, caring person with a deep affection for her dogs, her interests, her friends, and her partner, Nathan Treadway. Meeting her was a blessing, and I am happy to have had her in my life, as I am sure there are plenty of others who felt her impact. She cared for (and worked directly in service of) Northwest Alabama Mental Health in Crisis Care. She continued to work a difficult job, even while she was in poor health, for the internal benefit, and because the work was rewarding and gave her a feeling of helping others.

There are many people who will miss you, Gabby--most importantly your partner, Nathan, and all the lives you touched through your work. You were far too young, yet served as an inspiration that we don't have to reach a certain age to feel called to compassion toward those who cannot help themselves. She was deeply cared for and will be missed. Rest in peace, Gabby.
