West Brookfield – Gail E. Bowman, 64, of West Brookfield passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Vibra Hospital in Leicester.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Roy H. Bowman of West Brookfield; her sister, Elaine Harrington and her husband, Robert, of Wichita, KS; her sister, Diane Tarbet and her husband, Douglas, of Brockton; her sister, Nancy Wright of Bridgewater; her aunt, Elaine Keneklis of South Easton; her many nieces and nephews; as well as her beloved animals, whom she cherished as her children, Lily and Rosie, her dog and cat. Gail was predeceased by her sister, Mary-Ann Nave of Georgia; as well as by her previous canine companions, Teddy, Sarah, and Molly. She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Thomas L. and Clarisse A. (Cormier) Smith.
Following her graduation from high school, Gail worked for several years as a data entry clerk for Wing Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed simply relaxing at home with Roy, and enjoying the peace and quiet. Her animals were everything to her, and she loved them unconditionally.
A Funeral Service for Gail will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00pm in Varnum Funeral Home, 43 East Main Street in West Brookfield. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
Flowers for Gail are welcomed by her family, but donations may also be made to Second Chance Animal Services, at www.secondchanceanimals.com, in her memory.
