GAIL EILEEN DEWOLF  (nee BOYLAN), 72, of Highland Heights  passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024. Beloved wife of William (Bill) DeWolf for 54 years; loving mother of Dave DeWolf (Hilarie) and Dawn Thatcher (Brian); much loved Grandma of Hannah and Ryan DeWolf, and Emma, Savannah and Mackenzie Thatcher; dear sister of Cheryl Ucchino (Michael, deceased); sister-in-law of Karen Daniels (Jerry, deceased); aunt of Heather and Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Betty Boylan.

Gail was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 18, 1951, grew up in Mayfield Heights and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1969, later moving to Highland Heights. While her children were in school, Gail loved her years of volunteering for the Mayfield City School District, receiving the Citizen of the Year Award in 1988. Later, she really enjoyed working for the Progressive Insurance Company in Health Services for 30 years.

Gail treasured yearly family trips to Sanibel Island. Everyone showed up for shelling on the beach, day swims, night swims, bike rides, eating at favorite restaurants and the occasional ride on a jet ski with her grandson. Enjoying each other was the best part of these trips.

Her fun-loving spirit brought joy to all as she exuberantly cheered on her grandchildren in all their endeavors, including basketball, baseball, lacrosse, volleyball, softball, cross country and theatre performances! She was a dedicated fan of the Cleveland Guardians and the Cleveland Browns as well. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.  She was an incredibly selfless daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Gail to the Cleveland Food Bank or the Rescue Village.
