Gail Freeman Dotson, 75

Mona Gail Dotson, 75, of the Sunshine Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2026. 

She was born August 4, 1950. Gail was the daughter of the late Joseph Wade Freeman and Vernelle Lovelace Freeman.

She is survived by her son, Robert Wade Dotson (Bobby) and his wife Jennifer of Greenville SC. She is also survived by her special cousins, Cathy Toney Hollifield and her husband Andy, and daughter Kristin; Deb Toney and her daughter, Mallie; Cheryl Oates Chapman and her husband Michael; and Billy Lovelace and wife Jullianne.

 Gail was a graduate of East Rutherford High School. She worked at Norris-Biggs Clinic and Rutherford Internal Medicine until she retired. Gail loved music and had a beautiful singing voice and sang at the Country Stop in Rutherfordton and later joined a rock band where she played bass guitar for many years. Gail also was a lover of animals and especially cats.

 A graveside service will be held  11:00 am Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 at Cedar Grove Fellowship Church Cemetery in Sunshine. The Rev. Sam Henderson will officiate.
