Gail Elizabeth McNabb, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a courageous and graceful battle with cancer.
Gail was born in Trenton, New Jersey to Albert and Rose Carter. She spent her childhood making memories that would last her a lifetime. She would fondly recall time spent on the family farm in Yardley with her pet lamb Trouble, her family vacations down the Jersey Shore and being on her father’s boat just to mention a few.
An avid reader who was rarely seen without a book or Kindle in her hand, she possessed a sharp mind and an adventurous curiosity about the world that she traveled through her books. She was a wonderful cook and nothing gave her more joy than cooking for her family, especially during the holidays. Her resilience was on full display this past holiday season when, despite her illness, she insisted on baking her famous Christmas cookies to share with family and friends—a final, sweet gift that her loved ones will always treasure.
Gail’s heart belonged to her family. She always said that her children were her greatest accomplishment in life and she was fiercely proud of each one of them. Her strength during her final years was a testament to the incredible woman she was. Life wasn’t always easy for Gail but she always held her head up high and did what needed to be done without complaint. Always a hard worker to provide for her children, she was a bookkeeper for several companies over her career and a valuable and trusted employee to each and every one.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Rose Carter, brother Robert Carter, husband John McNabb and her sons Robert Reed and Donald Carroll. She is survived by her son Thomas S. Carroll and his girlfriend Nancy Steer, her daughter Tracy A. Healy and her husband Denis J. Healy, her 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her brother Ron. Gail also had a group of loyal friends that will miss her dearly, Tina, Marie and Rosanne especially. Lastly, her Florida friends that were like family for so many years.
A celebration of her life will be held at a time to be determined.
