Gail Antionette Starnes affectionately known as “Nene” was born on October 6, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to Harold and Coretha Jones. It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of our dear Gail, she departed this life peacefully and suddenly at the age of 71, surrounded by family and friends on November 4, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Hospital East. 

Gail graduated from Eastmoor High School, Home of the Warriors in 1970 or 1971. Gail was very passionate about her Dallas Cowboy and OSU Buckeyes. She loved helping family and her creative cooking. Aunt Gail helped her nephew Matthew and Mason Anthony sell over two hundred dollars’ worth of popcorn for their school’s improvement and helped them win first place. Thou she never had children of her own aunty helped raise Natasha Bridges AKA Naima, Jasmine Eden, Curtis Eden, Ziyanna Pardon and Emoni Pardon. She loved to skate back in her days of youth. She also shot pool with the Trail Truckers. Her and her sisters would bowl together all around the city. Gail would say what she wanted when she wanted and did whatever it was, she wanted to do when she wanted. 

Gail is preceded in death by her husband of 18 years William J. Starnes, parents: Harold Jones and Coretha Jones (Givens), sisters: Arenita Bridges, Ida Gail, Linda Lee, and Saundra Jones, brother-in-law: Thomas Triplett, Daniel Lee, Kenneth Roberson, nephew-in-law: Lorenzo Brown, cousin: Betty Roddy. 

Gail the youngest of seven sisters, leaves to cherish her memory her sisters: Sharon Triplett and Laura Roberson, brother: Harold Jones Jr., nephews: Michael Bridges, Kevin bridges, Richard Kendrick, Joseph Russell Jr., Alphonzo Jennings, Frank (Dawn) Price, niece: Ledia Brown, Demetria Russell, Sonya Morgan, Faun Jones, Saundra Jones, Michelle Bridges, Kennetta Roberson, special friend: Asha Cole, a host of niece, nephews, family, friends, and other acquaintances. 

 Gail will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
